Some Christmas Gossip
treasures from december
It’s the last week of December so obviously we are talking about our favorite Christmas themed memories from movies, brands, campaigns and what-not.
We are starting off with the brilliant short movie shot by the legendary Karl Lagerfeld, starring Pharrell Williams and Cara Delevingne. The song “CC The World” was composed and performed by Pharrell. According to a very credible source from YouTube comments, the song may be called “CC The World” but the boy in the movie is actually chanting “Sissi”-the empress “Elisabeth” of Austria. Cara’s look was inspired by said empress.
The whole composition, direction and vision behind this movie is truly impressive. A legend, an icon and a muse together, served us an early Christmas in 2014.
Bridget Jones’s Diary
Can’t speak of Christmas without bringing up the hideous/adorable sweater that Mark Darcy wore to see Bridget at the Christmas party for the first time. An ugly-ass green turtleneck adorned with the huge face of a moose with a bright red nose. The task to knit an ironic and ugly sweater was given to approximately 30 knitters and they were satisfied only when the reindeer was replaced with a moose. This tells us how much thought and effort goes into making something really ugly.
Tyler, The Creator and Christmas
If you can’t take out 10 minutes to listen to Tyler’s “Music Inspired by Illumination & Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch” during Christmas, you are seriously missing out on some wonderful melodies, romantic words by Ryan Beatty and Tyler on Lights On. Tyler flawlessly shadows the christmas-y ambience with a touch of hip-hop and cussing. Speaking of cussing, if you’re not the biggest fan of Christmas season for whatever unusual reasons, Odd Future also wrote “Fuck this Christmas” for you. Discovering Christmas themed music from Tyler requires you to enter a deep dark hole. He has written so much music about Grinch because he has also always felt like an intruder. In most lyrics he’s relating his activities to that of the Grinch’s.
So, have fun discovering Tyler’s mischievous and insecure quirks!
Make this Christmas more eventful by indulging in the season’s gossip and keeping us in the loop, because we promise to do the same for you. Happy Holidays, keep finding cool and interesting stuff everyday!
