Streetwear stores in India

the catch? you decide which ones you want to walk into

I think we can all agree that we have online-shopped enough for 9 life-times. Be it during Covid, or every huge online sale ever, or just adding things to your cart in the name of retail therapy, we have done it all.

So get your asses up, go to that mindfully crafted store that was made to give you the optimum shopping experience, and touch the tongue of that sneaker before you buy it, feel the fit of that oversized tee, check if those denims you’ve been saving up for fall on your shoes perfectly. Also, this time you get to do all of that in a store that is not H&M or Zara. You’re welcome

CDC Experience by Crepdog Crew

Starting off strong with CDC because they truly have a mind-blowing collection to offer! The innumerable shoes, or jewellery, or hyped accessories that they have treasured will have you in a chokehold. I’d love to chat with the curators, cause goddamn they have such a good eye.

THEY HAVE THE IKEA X VIRGIL ABLOH “WET GRASS” RUG FROM 2019! I’ve courageously added it to my cart, everyone pray that I get a raise.

They have the largest sneaker wall in all of Asia and it is a sight to behold.

Something tells me that their green shopping bag is on it’s way to becoming an iconic possession. We’ll find out sooner or later, won’t we?

You can visit them in Mumbai (Bandra West) and Delhi (Saket)

find more details on their website:

Veg/Non-Veg

We have all been here, do I really have to talk about it? They’ve been around since 2016, making their mark on streetwear culture dominant and clear. We all know and approve of  the Veg/Non-Veg store, I think. Not the greatest, but it isn’t disappointing either.

You can find them in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore.

Capsul

Capsul’s trial rooms are going to be infected with countless mirror selfies- take my word on that. Recently opened up, right beside Veg/Non-Veg, this store has potential of being a cute stop-by when you accidentally spot it while out & about in Bandra. I say this because the collection is fairly better online; rather just check the website than come down to the store intentionally and be underwhelmed. Also, this may just be me but the assistant at the store wasn’t the most helpful, and to say the least I wasn’t a fan of him. No bad blood, just thought I’d put it out there, incase someone has a similar experience, we could maybe bond over it.

Yet, if you’re out and about, you can visit them in Mumbai ( Bandra West ) and Bangalore ( Cunningham Road ). Sorry Delhi.

Dawntown

Buy a pair of kicks and shoot some hoops right after! They’ve got your plans sorted like that.

Yes, Sanju Baba is an investor here.

After the little Yeezy Space Ash scandal that had everyone doubting if they should get Yeezys, Downtown was the only place authorised to sell Yeezys for a while. If that isn’t credibility, I don't know what is.

If you’re up for some more fun after shooting hoops, test your luck at the Heatclaw machine for just ₹500 and you might get to take a random pair home. You really won’t, but you might. (You won’t, come on!)

Find them Only in Mumbai. Where? you guessed it, Bandra West.

Days For Clothing

Of course I saved the best for the last. I may be a little biassed when it comes to DFC so please let that slide. I adore their collection, especially their denim garments. The fit and touch is just perfect. The tailoring is impeccable and evident. They have a cosy little store in Dharavi stocked with exclusive picks from ‘Unknown-thread.’ DFC garments have been featured in various magazines, looking incredible each time.

You can find them in Dharavi, Mumbai.

I really hope that these open-ended and impartial briefs on streetwear stores have helped you make up your mind. I’m curious to know what stores you end up visiting based on the description I have provided.
